Online course Volunteering in Finland

On the 4th at 18:00 every month

The course lasts one month and is intended for all Russian-speaking residents of Finland who are ready to delve deeper into the topic of volunteering and integration into Finnish society. This online course will help you not only to expand your knowledge of Finnish society and volunteering, but also to become an active part of the social and professional network in Finland.

 

Everyone is invited to participate, regardless of gender, age and social status.

What you will learn on the course:

  • ​About the structure of Finnish society: you will learn the history of volunteering and the system of work of the third sector and public social health organizations in Finland.

  • About opportunities to use your personal or professional experience: expand your social and professional networks.

  • How to find a suitable place for volunteering: you will learn about resources for finding volunteer opportunities in your city or region (including in Russian). You will understand how to find a place where you can be useful based on your interests, capabilities and skills.

  • be active,

  • learn from the inside how Finnish society works,

  • discover new development prospects in Finland,

  • expand your social and professional network,

  • integrate and find employment in a new country and society.

  • First mandatory online meeting: new cohort meeting every 4th of the month at 18:00.

  • Self-study on the Google Classroom platform.

  • Second midterm online meeting (optional): after 2 weeks to discuss issues and share experiences.

  • Third final meeting and diploma issuance: every 4th at 19:30 for participants who have completed the course.

Volunteering opens up opportunities to:

Diplomas

Participants who complete the course will receive a diploma on the 4th of the following month. Those who study more slowly can complete the course and receive a diploma in the next stream.​

Possibilities

After successfully completing the basic course, you will have new opportunities for development:

  • Become a volunteer, mentor or tutor.

  • Take additional training to become a support group leader. This will give you the opportunity to organize and lead your own groups.

After registering, you will receive instructions on how to join the course in Google Classroom.

This course will not only help you delve deeper into volunteering and integration into Finnish society, but will also open up new opportunities for your personal and professional development in Finland.
